Environmental monitoring in mountain areas and land-cover dynamics

SPLITRS 2019

After Split (2014), Thessaloniki (2015), Chania (2016), Dubrovnik (2017), and Prague (2018) SPLITRS is taking us to Bolzano, Italy. Once again, an intensive learning remote sensing program for professionals and graduate students will be offered at a great location. Bolzano is a city of two lifestyles, one Northern European and the other more Mediterranean, combined to make the perfect union, which can be clearly seen in the historic and artistic treasures of this city.

SPLITRS is a non-profit organization. All profits go to students in need.

SPLITRS 2019 in Italy, Bolzano

OUR GOAL

SPLITRS is an intensive and advanced learning event, which presents best insights into most recent techniques learned from top international professors and researchers through hands-on sessions and lectures. Participants learn about different remote sensing applications using UAS (drone), LiDAR sensors, SAR, and various RS software.

To attend SPLITRS, it is not required to have comprehensive knowledge of remote sensing, but basic understanding is recommended. Participants are expected to attend and follow the whole event to receive the Certificates of Completion.

SPLITRS is a non-profit school.

Eurac Research

Eurac Research is a private research center headquartered in Bozen, South Tyrol. The center has eleven institutes organized into four research areas: autonomies, mountains, technology and health. Eurac Research has around 200 partners spread across 50 countries. Eurac Research collaborates with international organizations such as the Alpine and Carpathian Conventions, UNEP and UNIDO in the context of sustainable development and energy technology, and also hosts the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention at its headquarters in Bolzano/Bozen.

BOLZANO IS TO EXPERIENCE

In Bolzano, the landscape offers just the right compromise between living space and greenery. The city offers numerous trails for those who wish to take a walk without getting to far away from the centre; at the same time, more expert excursionists can take advantage of one of the three cable cars available to take you to the plateaus that surround the capital. Here, nothing can beat nature!
